I’m delighted to have my painting 3 Dancers on display in the Surrealism exhibition @opengallery.info open until 27th November. well worth a visit! Although not strictly speaking a formal Surrealist, my painting was inspired by Picasso's 1925 work called Les Trois Danseuses. The composition was formed by making an initial sketch on paper and then cutting it into pieces and reassembling it in a different order. At the end of August I went to the French Pyrenees to do some drawing and walking in the mountains. This morning I went to @derwentmuseum and bought a tinted charcoal paint pan set and then went walking up Gowbarrow Hill overlooking Ullswater. It was a rather boggy walk across the fells but an also a quiet one until I reached the summit. In the @theroyalhoteldockray pub after my walk sitting next to the lovely fireplace, I painted this picture with the new set of paints.
