Why am I writing this blog?

This time a year ago, I moved from Switzerland back to the UK and have spent the last year trying to find a permanent home and one area of work to focus on. The permanent home, although it took 6 months, has been resolved. However, trying to find one area to focus on has not been

successful. I realized I am not just one thing! There are many components that make up who I am. Sometimes, in the middle of a creative flow, this is brilliant. Other times, it is very frustrating as I don't often see a project through to the end.

As a 13- and 14-year-old, at options time, I was terrorized by the question, "What are you going to be when you grow up?" It felt like what they were really asking was, "How are you going to be successful? And oh, by the way, don't you know that you'll never earn a living as an artist?" Who am I going to be? I don't think I'll ever know! I don't want to be put in a box with just one label. I'm an artist, a T-shirt and printed textiles designer, a knitter, a dressmaker. I have been a graphic designer, an outdoor instructor, a DofE trainer and assessor, an International Mountain Leader, an expeditions and holiday planner, a walker, and a yoga teacher wannabe. I'm struggling to be just one of those things. So, in this blog, my aim is to tell you simply what I am doing, thinking, or creating on a daily or weekly basis.
